These dedicated workers help the hospital maintain its high standards of patient care and cleanliness. These workers come under the Patient Support Services (PSS) banner and are part of a workforce of about 700 people. PSS, as the name suggests, is committed to working with all sections of the hospital to improve the quality of patient care. Without its dedicated Support Workers the hospital would struggle to maintain its very high standards. Adrian Robinson, Manager Patient Support Services said: Patient Support Services plays a very important role as backup to nursing and administrative staff. The PSS team aspires to become leaders in the field of Patient Support Services and develop and promote a culture of best practice. It also strives to deliver efficient and effective services and promote an environment of trust, integrity and exemplary employee citizenship.

Electrical Equipment

For safety reasons, electrical items requiring the use of mains electricity should not be brought into the Hospital.

A battery operated radio or personal stereo is allowed provided it is used with an earpiece.

Emergency Procedures

We have procedures in place to handle any emergencies and all staff are trained to adhere to these procedures during emergencies.
