It was the end of one era - and the beginning of a new one in January 2006 when the Royal Perth Hospital Outpatients Clinic opened in Goderich Street.

The North Block Outpatients Clinic closed at Christmas 2005 and reopened in new premises on Goderich Street, with a new name - the Royal Perth Outpatients Clinic.

The North Block Outpatients Clinic first opened its doors to patients on February 15, 1989 and since then has seen a multitude of change and improvement, and has averaged around 67,000 patients a year.

The clinic's move will allow room in RPH's North Block building for the creation of WA's first dedicated Trauma Ward, which includes a modernised Burns Unit.

The new clinic is in the old Perth Dental Hospital building, which will eventually house all ambulatory care services - including physio and occupational therapies.

This first stage of works will enable it to house Pre Admission Assessment Service (PAAS), Phlebotomy, General Outpatients Clinics and Outpatients Pharmacy.

Patients parking in the multi-story car park can either walk to the new clinic through the main Hospital building, or can use a new bus service that will transport people between the ground floor of the RPH multistorey car park, the Victoria Square entrance, and entrance of the new clinic on Goderich Street.

Alternatively, there is a drop-off and pick-up zone at the Clinic's entrance, and a taxi phone is available just inside the Clinic.  Disabled parking is provided off Goderich Street.
