The Medical Research Foundation

Medical Research Foundation

Yesterday's medical research projects have become today's treatments and cures.

MRF Chairman, Winthrop Professor Lawrie Beilin AOTeaching Hospitals are the State's major resource for research activities and should unremittingly explore better methods of maintaining health and preventing and treating disease in the community.

The Royal Perth Hospital Medical Research Foundation supports research projects that are conducted principally at the Hospital, maintaining our position as a premier national resource centre for basic and clinical research.

Quality research is an essential component in the delivery of excellent patient care.  It attracts fine minds and also fosters an environment of innovation and improvement in the practice of health care.

The grants of this Foundation are a vital link to an immense untapped resource.  The Foundation provides seed money for younger researchers and innovative projects in the Royal Perth Hospital, acting as a catalyst in the on-going development of medical research.  The Foundation also provides vital and substantial infrastructure support such as research laboratories for the Royal Perth Hospital campus.

The Foundation aims to place funds strategically, to best serve medical research and the community at large, research projects that have the potential to develop and stand alone in the future.

How to support medical research at RPH

Today's research is tomorrow's treatment.

The fields of research supported by the Foundation touch the lives of all Western Australians.  If research into common disorders such as heart disease, diabetes and leukemia is to succeed, it will be because of the combined efforts of scientists, governments and all Australians.

The Foundation needs your help to finance its research.

There are many ways you can help, including:

  • Make annual or more frequent donations
  • Make provision in your will
  • Donate in lieu of a birthday gift
  • Donate in memory of a loved one

Donations are tax deductible.
