Plasmodium falciparum?

Sorry!  Try again.

Take another look and note the size of the two infected red cells and the shape and size of the parasites.

Plasmodium vivax?

Correct!

Well done.  The infected red cells are clearly enlarged and the parasites demonstrate the typical amoeboid tendencies of P.vivax.

Plasmodium ovale?

Sorry!  Take another look.

A good effort.  Certainly one of the infected red cells is enlarged and the parasites are amoeboid.  Are the infected red cells comet shaped?

Take another look and note the size of the two infected red cells and the shape and size of the parasites.

Sorry!
