Malarial parasites not seen?

Correct!

There are no parasites present in this thick film field.  Of course you should
scan the thick film for at least 10 minutes, then if still no parasites seen,
request repeat thick and thin films on two further occasions.  A "dip stick" test
kit is also a useful screening aid for P.falciparum in addition to the microscopy.
