You obviously noted that the infected red cells are not enlarged.

Have another look and note especially the shape of the parasites.

Did you notice that the two parasites in this field are exhibiting typical "band" like tendencies in red cells which are not enlarged?

Sorry!  Have another look.

There are two parasites in this field which show a particular species diagnostic feature.

Take another look and also note the size of the infected red cells.  If necessary, go back to the Diagnosis section to refresh your memory.
