Plasmodium falciparum?

Sorry!  Have another look.

Even though the infected red cell containing the ring form is not enlarged, note the size of the parasite.  Also have a good look at the gametocyte just below the ring form.  Remember P.falciparum gametocytes are crescent shaped.

Plasmodium vivax?

Correct!  Well done.

We thought this was rather a nice gametocyte.  Even though the infected red cell containing the ring form is not enlarged, the size of the parasite is a useful guide.  Good effort.
