Even though a little understained, there are numerous typical P. falciparum features to be seen in this field. The infected red cells are not enlarged, multiple parasites in the same red cell, some marginal forms and the parasites are small and delicate.

None of the infected red cells are enlarged. It may be helpful to review the Teach section before trying again, noting the salient features for each Plasmodium species. Then look again at this image noting particularly the size of the infected red cells and look for marginal forms and multiple parasites inside the same red cell.
