Plasmodium falciparum?

Sorry!  Take another look.

Have a good look at the shape of the red cell.
This characteristic shape should give you a clue.

Plasmodium vivax?

Sorry!  Take another look.

You obviously observed that the infected red cell is slightly enlarged.
Have another look and note the characteristic shape of the infected red cell.

Plasmodium ovale?

Correct!

A rather nice schizont of P.ovale.  Did you see the typical
comet like shape of the infected red cell which is slightly enlarged?

Plasmodium malariae?

Sorry!  Have another look.

Have a good look at the shape of the red cell.
This characteristic shape should give you a clue.

Malarial parasites not seen?

Sorry!  Have another look.

There is one infected red cell in the centre of the field.

Have another look and note especially the shape of the infected red cell.
This should give you a clue.
