Plasmodium falciparum?

Sorry!  Have another look.

Even though the infected red cells are not enlarged, the classical
"daisy-head" schizont should be a sufficient clue.  Note the slightly
amoeboid ring form two cells below and to the right of the schizont.

Plasmodium vivax?

Sorry!  Have another look.

The infected red cells are not enlarged; note the classical
"daisy-head" schizont, which should give you a good clue.  There
is also a slightly amoeboid ring form two cells below and to the right of the schizont.

Plasmodium ovale?

Sorry!  Have another look.

The infected red cells are not enlarged; note the classical
"daisy-head" schizont, which should give you a good clue.  There
is also a slightly amoeboid ring form two cells below and to the right of the schizont.

Plasmodium malariae?

Correct!

As well as the typical "daisy-head" schizont inside a red cell which is not enlarged,
did you see the "developing" ring form two cells below and to the right of the schizont?

Malarial parasites not seen?

Sorry!  Try again!

There is a classical "daisy-head" schizont as well as a
slightly amoeboid ring form in this field.
