Plasmodium falciparum?

Good Work!

There are numerous fine ring forms in this field including marginal forms
and one red cell containing two parasites.  The infected red cells are not enlarged.
You correctly identified this as P.falciparum.

Sorry!  Have another look at this film.

Note particularly the size of the infected red cell, in relation to
the non-infected red cells.  There are also a number of marginal
forms and one red cell containing two parasites.

Sorry!  Have another look at this film.

Note particularly the size of the infected red cell, in relation to
the non-infected red cells.  There are also a number of marginal
forms and one red cell containing two parasites.

Plasmodium malariae?

Sorry!

You obviously noted that the infected red cells were not enlarged, however
in the main, the ring forms are quite fine.  There is also one red cell
containing two parasites and a number of marginal forms.

Sorry!  Have another look at this film.

There are numerous fine, delicate ring forms in this field.

Try again and note the size of the infected red cells.  Also have a look
for marginal forms and the presence of multiple parasites in one red cell.
