
Phlebotomy Training Course
General
Students who complete the phlebotomy course run through PathWest, Royal Perth Hospital, Biochemistry Department will receive a “Certificate of Proficiency,” which is accepted by all PathWest centres and private Pathology practices in Western Australia.
2010 Scheduled course dates are:
February 22nd (Last day for letters of interest is 8th January)
May 31st
October 18th
Course duration:
Six weeks, held at Royal Perth Hospital. The first two weeks are full-time 0830 to 1500h - after which there is a written exam. When the student achieves an 85% pass rate, the following four weeks are half a day each day, with supervised practical experience gained in both clinics and wards.
Cost: $1,250.00 (GST included)
Pre-requisites for the course:
Proof of High School or Secondary Education Certificate (equivalent to Australian Year 10 education)
Provide documentation of Hepatitis B vaccinations
Current Police Clearance (within preceding 12 months)

At least six weeks before the course commencement date please register with a ‘Letter of Interest’ (do not include any attachments) addressed to:

Six weeks prior to the course commencement an ‘Application Package’ will be mailed out to those who have registered with a letter of interest.
