P.A.R.T.Y. Program
How Can I Book a P.A.R.T.Y. Day?
If you are interested in bringing your class to P.A.R.T.Y. Perth, simply contact the P.A.R.T.Y Coordinator on (08) 9224 1429 or email RPHParty@health.wa.gov.au. We are currently booking for the 2009 school year. *Please note that the program fills up quickly.

P.A.R.T.Y Coordinator will be waiting to meet students when they arrive at Victoria Street entrance. Lunches will be taken to lunch room.

Introduction: Outline of day, communication strategy, and emergency response procedure.

Presentations: Members of the Ambulance Services present a power point presentation on the pre hospital phase of trauma.

Spinal / Head injuries power point presentation delivered by a RPH Doctor.

Students reassemble in their smaller groups to commence tour of areas.

Lunch at RPH
Lunch: Students need to bring their lunch to participate in the role play to simulate some of the potential difficulties injury survivors experience.

All students meet at Victoria Street entrance of RPH to transfer to Shenton Park Campus. School transport will be waiting at Victoria Street entrance to transfer to Shenton Park Campus. (P.A.R.T.Y. Coordinator will escort the students and school staff through the Shenton Park Campus.

Arrive at Shenton Park Campus Students will arrive at Selby Street entrance. Bus will park on private driveway until student's departure. Students will walk to Ward 11 to commence tour.

Students visit Sir George Bedbrook Spinal Unit for PPP and talk from nursing staff.

13:35-14:00
|
RPH Physiotherapist
Talk from physio describing their role in rehab and equipment. Visit Shenton Park gym.

Talk from Paraplegic Benefit Fund: Injury Survivors
|

14:50-15:00
|
Program debriefing, evaluation and contract for life certificate.

Students will be escorted back to main entrance where their transport will be waiting to take them back to their schools.

Checklist
Schools groups must arrive no later than 9:15 a.m. on your scheduled date to participate.
Inform students that the program runs from 9:00 a.m. - 3:10 p.m.
Ask students to eat breakfast before arriving, even if they do not normally eat in the morning. Some students have felt unwell during some of the presentations if they have not had breakfast.
Morning tea is provided.
Remind students to leave all valuables at home and to avoid bringing bags (we are not responsible for lost or stolen property while at the P.A.R.T.Y. Program).
If media is to be present at your scheduled program we will request media-consents to be filled out in advance of the P.A.R.T.Y. day. We will send consents with your P.A.R.T.Y. Pack and discuss this with you well in advance, if this is applicable.
Cost
There is no cost to the school for attending a P.A.R.T.Y. day.
Schools are responsible for getting students to and from the hospital.
There will be a $50 deposit taken at the time of booking. Schools that miss their day or are more than fifteen minutes late will be charged this fee.
