
Infectious Diseases Service
The RPH Infectious Diseases Service provides comprehensive care to patients with infectious diseases.
It is located within the Department of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, PathWest Laboratory Medicine WA at RPH.
The Service works with patients in the areas of:
- General infectious diseases, including traveller and tropical infections
- “Hospital in the Home” IV antibiotic service
- HIV (in collaboration with Clinical Immunology)
- Sexual Health (in collaboration with the Sexual Heath)
- Viral Hepatitis (in collaboration with Hepatology / Multidisciplinary Liver Group)
- Multidisciplinary Foot Ulcer Clinic (in collaboration with Endocrinology and Podiatry)
- Mycobacterial Diseases (including Hansen’s Disease)
- Migrant Health
- Infection Control
- Staff Occupational Health & Safety
- Infections in bone marrow and solid organ transplantation
The Service is very active in both clinical and laboratory-based research, and is accredited by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians for advanced training in Infectious Diseases.
