Lung Transplant Unit

The Advanced Lung Disease Service, Pulmonary Hypertension Program and WA Lung Transplant Unit has performed 14 transplants since the program started in November 2004. The first heart and lung transplant was also carried out in April 2005.

To date, the unit has delivered excellent survival rates compared with other Australian centres and it has allowed WA patients to have a transplant without the upheaval of relocating to the eastern states
