ABOUT US
The Department of General Surgery cares for patients requiring surgical treatment for a wide range of conditions but mainly relating to the intra-abdominal organs, breast, thyroid, skin and abdominal wall. Cancer surgery forms the bulk of the workload and the department employs international best practice methods in the management of cancer patients.
The department comprises of four units which are each staffed with consultants, registrars, residents and interns who sub-specialise in their respective areas of practice: -

- Unit 1 (Colorectal)
- Unit 2 (Upper GI)
- Unit 3 (Endocrine)
- Unit 4 (Breast)
The department sees education and training as a pivotal function and ensure that medical staff receive regular top-class instruction on the latest surgical techniques and practices.
