The Emergency Coordination Centre and Area wide Medical Coordinator are based at RPH and the Emergency Department is a major receiving centre for the critically injured. <br><br> Dr Carolyn Wilson and Dr Monica Gope coordinate Disaster Preparedness within the Emergency Department. <br><br> Dr Frank Daly is the state toxicologist involved in disaster plans. <br><br> <strong>Disaster Education </strong> <br><br> The Emergency Department places high importance in ongoing education for the staff. <br><br> Training in Major Incident Medical Management and Support (MIMMS) is encouraged and most consultants are qualified MIMMS Commanders. There are both medical and nursing MIMMS instructors working in the Emergency Department. <br><br> Emergotrain exercises are also performed.
