Top water efficiency scores bronze

July 6, 2015

Royal Perth Hospital has been recognised with a bronze award in honour of our significant water efficiency achievements in 2013/14.

As part of Water Corporation’s Water Efficiency Management Plan, 43 businesses received a bronze level award as their water consumption had improved by 10 to 25 per cent on the previous financial year.

Director of Infrastructure Facilities Management and Health Support Services John Doherty said by participating in the State Government’s water efficiency program, Royal Perth Hospital can do their part to conserve a precious resource.

“Water conservation is very important and I congratulate the staff in Facilities and Operations departments, as well as all hospital staff members who contributed to our achievement. No change is too small,” John said.

“It is often forgotten that hospitals, like households and businesses are able to make changes in the way they operate to save water.”

More than 330 Western Australian businesses saved a collective 14 billion litres of water in 2013/14, equivalent to 6222 Olympic sized swimming pools.
