Royal Perth Hospital recognises Mental Health Week

October 12, 2015

Last week Royal Perth Hospital recognised Mental Health Week, taking the opportunity to promote awareness about mental health issues whilst encouraging staff to maximise their mental health potential.
From BBQs and guest speakers to bridge displays and art exhibitions, the Royal Perth Hospital Mental Health team ensured the week had an activity to suit everyone!
Clinical Nurse Amaelea Oh said there was a buzz amongst staff and patients on Ward 2K over Mental Health Week.
“Mental Health Week is an exciting time for us. By having a variety of events for people to attend we can remind as many staff and patients as possible about the support networks available,” Amaelea said.
“At this year’s BBQ we placed a strong emphasis on bringing together inpatients with the clinical and executive staff involved in their recovery process. It was an ideal opportunity for staff and patients to interact in a casual setting and celebrate the Mental Health services at RPH.”
Mental Health Week took place from 2 - 10 October 2015 and provided the opportunity to highlight the different resources available to Royal Perth Hospital staff, consumers and community members on mental health issues.
