Royal Perth Hospital finalists in the WA Health Excellence Awards

Royal Perth Hospital (RPH) are finalists in four categories in this year’s WA Health Excellence Awards.

Acting Executive Director Dr Aresh Anwar says that the nominations are testament to the continued excellence delivered by RPH in the provision of high quality healthcare to the community.

“Recognition in four out of 10 categories is a great achievement for our hospital,” Dr Anwar said.

“The success of these programs reflects the commitment of our dedicated staff, as we continue to be a leader in innovative healthcare solutions.”

Category Three: Strategic Partnerships

Department of Nephrology, Royal Perth Hospital, in conjunction with the Kimberley Renal Vascular Access Team: Improving dialysis access surgery rates in the Kimberley

Category Five: Primary Care

Familial Hypercholesterolemia Western Australia (FHWA) Program, supported internally by the Health Strategy and Networks and Office of Population Health Genomics Braches in the Department of Health WA, Royal Perth Hospital and the Cardiovascular Health Network: Improving the care of inherited high cholesterol and risk of heart disease in families

Category Seven: Aboriginal Health

Royal Perth Hospital: Closing the gap in Aboriginal kidney transplants

Category Nine: Overcoming Inequalities

Royal Perth Hospital Plastic Surgery Department and Fremantle Hospital and Health Service Pain Management Unit: Telehealth. The winners will be announced on 14 November at a gala ceremony being held at the Perth Exhibition and Convention Centre.

The WA Health Excellence Awards aim to acknowledge outstanding achievements and contributions made towards high quality care and service delivery across the WA public health sector.
