Graham Wood gives back to RPH

September 15, 2016

Well renowned jazz pianist and current Associate Dean for Teaching and Learning at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), Graham Wood performed on the bridge last week as his way of giving back to the hospital after being an inpatient.

Graham was an inpatient under Dr Rao for 8 weeks in 2013 for Cholangiocarcinoma, (bile duct cancer).

Graham said he is very thankful to all the staff at Royal Perth Hospital, and that it was an absolute pleasure to have the opportunity to return.

“It’s my way of giving back to the hospital and all who helped me, and to cheer people up,” said Graham.

“Music is relaxing, and has healing transformative powers that are beyond intangible.”

Graham remains in good health today, clear of cancer.
